On February 2, 2012, Sam Gagner joined an elite group of NHL players - the 8 Point Club. During their home game against the Blackhawks, Gagner achieved 4 goals and 4 assists, locking down an 8-4 win. Only 11 other players have managed the feat before - and the last was in 1989, not even in Gagner's lifetime! Sam Gagner was only 22 when he had his 8 point night, and made his points in 17:28 of ice time.

Gagner joins Oilers legends Wayne Gretzky, Paul Coffey, as well as Mario Lemieux, Bernie Nicholls, Anton and Peter Stastny, Bryan Trottier, Tom Bladon, Rocket Richard, Bert Olmstead, and Patrik Sundstrom.
